No New Posts Boston Bruins
Boston Bruins   The Boston Bruins are one of the original six teams of the NHL. Grocery magnate Charles Adams bought an NHL franchise in 1924 for a reported $15,000. The Bruins team colors of yellow and brown matched those of his Brookside grocery stores. Hockey fans in Boston were still packing the Boston Arena until the Boston Gardens opened in 1928. In the 1929 playoffs the Boston Bruins defeated the New York Rangers to win their first Stanley Cup championship.

Buffalo Sabres   The Buffalo Sabres were formed in 1970 by local businessmen Seymour and Northrup Knox. The Knoxes hired former Toronto Maple Leafs coach and general manager Punch Imlach, as the coach and general manager. The nickname "Sabres" was selected in 1969 in a local contest that saw over thirteen thousand suggestions. In their first season the Buffalo Sabres finished with 24 wins and 63 points with Gilbert Perrault leading all rookies with 38 goals and 72 points - good enough to earn him the Calder Trophy as the NHL's best rookie.

No New Posts Ottawa Senators
Ottawa Senators   Ottawa was a charter member of the National Hockey League when it was formed in 1917. They won their first Stanley Cup championship in 1920. After a slow start the following year, the Senators bounced back and defeated the Vancouver Millionaires to win back to back Stanley Cups. The Senators would go on to win two more Stanley Cups in the 1920s, before the team would dissolve and move to St. Louis in 1933-34. They played their final season (1934-1935) as the St. Louis Eagles.

No New Posts Toronto Maple Leafs
Toronto Maple Leafs   The Toronto Maple Leafs were founded in November of 1917 as the Toronto Arenas, replacing the Quebec Bulldogs as one of the four teams in the then brand new National Hockey League. Lawyer Eddie Livingstone was the founder and the Arenas played their first game on December 19, 1917. Despite winning the Stanley Cup in the league's first year, the Toronto Arenas would struggle and in 1919 would go on to become the Toronto St. Patrick’s. By 1922 the St. Pats were surprising many pundits, defeating Ottawa and Vancouver in the playoffs to win Toronto's second Stanley Cup championship. But in 1927 a new company headed by Conn Smythe and Hugh Aird purchased the club and renamed them as the Maple Leafs. They also began construction of the Maple Leaf Gardens, where the Leafs would begin playing in the 1931-32 season.
